More smart board opportunities

Seeing a second year teacher be so comfortable with the Smart Board was really inspiring. Being reminded they are simple to do in such a short period of time can help ones desire to learn more. The many options of  activities is important and can reach out to the different types of learners in the classroom. However being reminded to not go overboard with using the Smart Board is good to know because one can become too comfortable and forget to do other learning activities. Knowing someone is willing to help us continue learning about the Smart Board is helpful and can make one not be so afraid to use it in the classroom.

The two pictures I added on Flickr are both of my family. The first one is of my Mom and I visiting family in Texas and in the other one it's my cousins and I on their graduation day. I found this process on Flickr to be very simple and easy. The simplicity made me want to tour the cite more and play around with the services it has to offer.

Teacher Tube

Teacher Tube was somewhat complicated. It was hard to find certain topics, as well as finding good ways to explain these topics through video. It was also very slow to access these videos on the computer.

50 States and Capitals (cartoon song)

This is the Fifty States and Capitals song following the first and second grade history and geography SOL. Hopefully this would be a fun and good way for the kids to learn the states and capitals through song.

Martin Luther King Jr. I Have a Dream

This is an actual video of Martin Luther King's " I Have A Dream" speech. This would fall under third grade civics SOL. Showing this would hopefully establish the importance and emotion of his speech.

Smart Board Activities

Paying around in class with the Smart Board was helpful in being able to feel more comfortable with the program. There are so many quick and easy instructional activities to where one is bound to grasp a concept. Having fun activities like this will hopefully get the children excited about learning. Who would have thought using an interactive, touch detection, white board would have created such craze.

Discover Education Video Streaming

Video Streaming is an easy and creative way for teaching. Having seen this done before, it seemed easier to find certain topics on here than on Teacher Tube. Showing a whole video or segments is great and hopefully the students can adapt to this new way of teaching and learning. It was also nice to see that there are books on here as well. The Discovery Education Video Streaming was a great and easy way to incorporate all types of topics and subjects into the classroom.

The Smart Board

The Smart board is an interactive way to enhance instruction and learning. It provides teachers a fun way to create instruction through different types of learning activities. The students also gain new ways of learning and specific students skills can be addressed. This technological advancement is quick, easy, and fun for teachers and students.
